Course Objectives
By the end of this session, you will:
- Have a clear and in-depth understanding of what safeguarding is.
- Understand your duty of care to those you may come into contact with.
- Be familiar with the categories of abuse and related safeguarding issues.
- Understand the roles and responsibilities involved in safeguarding.
- Recognise and understand issues relating to discrimination, bullying, and harassment.
- Understand what County Lines is and why it is a safeguarding concern.
- Be aware of the legal and policy framework for safeguarding adults and children.
- Know how to create and maintain a safe environment.
Understand how to keep people safe online. - Have an in-depth understanding of what PREVENT is and its role in safeguarding.
By the end of this session, you will be able to:
- Distinguish between a safeguarding/PREVENT issue and a general concern.
- Recognise, record, and report disclosures and concerns safely and correctly.
- Apply safeguarding practices to keep yourself and others safe in the workplace.
