Dipa Munna, Dental Referrals Manager for CDS, has recently achieved a distinction in her Level 3 Team Leader and Supervisor apprenticeship at The B-Skill Apprenticeship Academy.
Dipa has worked with CDS for 4 years and previously worked for another company who also provides NHS services. She started her career working in administration, and then moved into team leadership. Dipa was keen to enhance her knowledge, particularly around Finance and HR.
Despite being nervous about her virtual interview with the examination officer, Dipa gained her Level 3 with distinction and is very proud of her achievement.
Dipa said: “I work 3 days a week, so I did a lot of studying during my days off which meant juggling my home life. It took a year, but I really enjoyed the challenge”.
As an apprenticeship qualification Dipa not only had to meet criteria in showing gained knowledge, but she was also expected to showcase the learnt behaviour in her day-to-day activities within her role with CDS.
She said: “Having been out of work on maternity leave for a while, I had lost confidence and some workplace procedures and systems had changed, so I felt the course would really benefit me, not only in my work role for CDS but also in my personal life”.
As Covid restrictions hit the UK, coursework learning and one-to-one monthly sessions with her mentor all became virtual.
Dipa’s advice to anybody considering taking on additional study is to “go for it!”.
