POSITION:
Finance Apprentice
REPORTING TO:
Finance and Payroll Officer/ Head of Finance
LOCATION:
North East: Head Office, Newcastle City Centre
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Include but are not limited to the following:
- Maintain up to date and accurate filing systems for all administration and supplier correspondence
- Logging purchase order numbers on the system
- Checking Petty Cash receipts on appropriate accounts
- Check and posting of business card receipts
- Organisation of printed stationary runs to be checked and authorised by the Finance Officer
- Booking hotel accommodation/travel arrangements for staff
- Organise couriers for the organisation
- Ordering business equipment following receipt of purchase orders
- Checking staff mileage and expenses claims in order for them to be processed for payment.
- Sorting the post for the finance department on a daily basis and ensuring that post is received by the relevant person
- General administration support across the Finance Team including filing, photocopying, scanning and archiving.
- Deliver a confident and professional telephone service, answering enquiries promptly both to internal and external customers.
- Carry out all duties and work in accordance with the B-Skill quality improvement procedures and in the spirit of the B-Skill Values Statement.
- Play an active part in the promotion and awareness of Safeguarding of learners across the business and externally as appropriate, and to help prevent acts of radicalisation and extremism.
- Play an active part in promotion and awareness of Equality & Diversity across the business and externally as appropriate.
The post holder may be required to undertake any other such responsibilities as are reasonably commensurate with the status of this post.
Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills Required
Experience/Knowledge
- As this is an Apprenticeship no experience is necessary
- Some knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Outlook would be useful
Skills/Competencies
- Highly developed inter-personal skills
- Good verbal and written skills
- Ability to work in a team and establish good working relationships with others.
- Ability to organise and schedule own work to meet deadlines set.
- Be self-motivating, enthusiastic and a team player
Qualifications/Education
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) is essential
- ICT qualification would be desirable
Other Requirements
- Must be eligible to live and work in the UK
- Must be smart and presentable at all times
