A work based learning programme that has been designed to enable existing employees to develop their skills and knowledge to become an HGV driver. You will receive training and coaching to obtain an HGV Category C license and progress to a Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) Driver WBL programme.

The blended programme starts with an introductory training course on the role and responsibilities of an HGV driver. This will help the learner prepare for the theory and hazard perception tests. The new driver will then receive a tailored programme of driving tuition before being entered for their practical test and initial Driver CPC.

They will also begin their Intermediate WBL Programme in Large Goods Vehicles (LGV) Driver which is designed to develop them into a professional LGV and HGV driver. It will give them a level of occupational competence and driving skills above that of the standard required for license acquisition.
