Prepare to Work

Do you need some additional support before going for your next job? Our Prepare to Work programmes focus on different industries and teach you the essential skills to pursue a job a those areas. We are here to help you get your next job in one of the following industries:

Business Finance

This programme combines an AAT Access Award with preparation to work in a business finance setting. You will gain a broader understanding of how a business works, alongside basic accountancy techniques/ This programme is a first level programme with potential to progress onto higher ones if desired.

It is not necessary to have knowledge or experience of Finance/Book-keeping.

Duration: 2.5 weeks

Attendance: TBC

Retail

This programme is designed to train and prepare you for a customer facing role in a retail environment. You will gain a better understanding of the various roles available, the expectations they come with and progression routes within the retail industry.

It is not necessary to have any previous knowledge or experience within retail.

Programme Duration: 2 weeks

Attendance: Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 3.30pm

Medical Administration

This programme is designed to teach you the tools needed to work in medical administration.  You will gain a better understanding of what it’s like working in various health care settings and build the knowledge required to perform in these roles. Jobs can includes working for the NHS in Doctor’s Surgery’s, Clinics, Hospitals and other health care environments.

It is not necessary to have previous knowledge or understanding within medical administration, however you must have a minimum of Level 1 Literacy Skills to undertake the programme.

Duration: 2.5 weeks

Attendance: Monday to Friday, 9.30pm to 3pm (2 weeks + 3 days)

 

Food Service/Catering

This programme will train and prepare you to work in a hospitality environment. You will gain an understanding of the expectations and knowledge of various different roles in the industry, whilst learning new skills and improve your confidence to get your next job.

It is not necessary to have previous knowledge or understanding within hospitality.

Duration: 2 weeks

Attendance: Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 3pm

Child Care

This programme will prepare you to work in childcare and can lead to jobs in nurseries, schools or becoming a childminder. You will explore the various development stages of children and general awareness required to work in childcare. You will also gain a City & Guilds Level 1 Certificate in Skills for Working in the Childcare Sector qualification.

It is not necessary to have previous knowledge or understanding of childcare.

Duration: 2 weeks

Attendance: Monday to Friday, 10am to 2.30pm
