Preparing & Carrying Out a Witness Testimony
The video below will give you an understanding of expectations relating to providing a witness testimony. You may have a learner who is carrying out a qualification with B-Skill, whereby a witness testimony may be required in order to advance the learner to completion.
The value of witness testimonies cannot be understated. As a recognised, competent individual, you are requested to provide specific examples of when you have observed the learner(s) carrying out a specific role in the workplace. It should be noted that you need to focus on specific events that you’ve seen, not just generalising. Having said that, you’re not expected to remember exact dates and times, you can give a fairly vague answer here if it was sometime in the past (although more recent observations of learner competence are even better).
In any event, in addition to this video, the coach/tutor will be available to provide any support or answer any questions you may have prior to the testimony taking place. Testimonies will ordinarily take place via a phone call or Teams/Zoom etc.
Thank you for supporting the learner in the completion of their qualification.
