It’s the time of year for the B-Skill staff conference

B-Skill Annual Staff Conference

As Christmas approaches, B-Skill welcome all staff, partners and a guest speaker to our annual staff conference later this month. Our community is important to us so having the opportunity to get everyone together and bring a year of phone calls and emails to light is an exciting event to take place.

Our guest speaker, William David Chadwick, will share over 20 years of expertise with our network. William truly walks the equality and diversity talk and all its related subjects. Prior to becoming a freelance trainer, he was the UK Head of Personnel and Training for the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC). Before that promotion, William was one of the Tribunal and County Court Officers helping to represent people taking discrimination claims from both an employment and service delivery perspective. He has provided an advisory service to employers in the private, public and not for profit sectors.

Today, when not training people in equality laws, diversity issues and cultural awareness, William is a volunteer advocate in the North West helping people at the margins of society with job search mentoring, alongside bullying, discrimination,  harassment, employment, immigration and welfare benefit claims.

He is conversant with the various scrutiny regimes that measure equality and diversity, including those in operation under bodies such as Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission.. He has assisted many organisations, prior to inspection, to attain and sustain the required standards. William’s other specialist topics include:-

  • Data Protection & General Data Protection Regulation(GDPR)
  • The Prevent Duty
  • Cultural Communication

  • The Modern Employee representative
  • Recruitment and Selection
  • Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures
  • Advocacy
  • Public Speaking and Presentations
  • Corporate Governance

His lively and engaging style brings potentially “dry and dusty” subjects to life leaving delegates with a high quality and memorable learning experience. He is a graduate of Newcastle University and in this region his clients have included: –

  • The Baltic-Gateshead

In his spare time, William is involved in amateur dramatics. He enjoys reading and walking as well as supporting Manchester United Football Club.
