A work based development programme in Supply chain Warehousing is suitable for employees wanting to improve their knowledge and skills in a variety of warehouse environments. Work activities include taking deliveries, checking for damaged/missing items, storing goods, moving stock by various methods, picking/packing orders, loading goods for dispatch, maintaining stock records and documentation, and cleaning. They are required to safely use a range of equipment, machinery and vehicles, as relevant to their role and setting.

  • Safe MHE operating techniques relevant to job role
  • Key environmental legislation and awareness of the effects of working practices on the environment
  • Warehouses systems and processes
  • Basic IT applications and other relevant technology and systems
  • Relevant regulation and legislation governing the supply chain industry
  • Vision and objectives of the brand
DEVELOPING CORE SKILLS
  • Operate MHE equipment safely and efficiently
  • Working effectively as part of a team and individually
  • Safe & efficient loading & unloading practices
  • Comply with regulations and processes for safely and efficiently moving, han-dling, packing and unpacking
  • Select, prepare and use packaging materials that are appropriate to the job
  • Demonstrate awareness of waste reduction, cost and environmental impact
  • Use correct equipment and procedures to record receiving or stowing goods and produce relevant paperwork and/or labelling processes
