A work based development programme in strategic management aimed at colleagues that manage teams to deliver results in line with the company vision, values and corporate social responsibility. Key responsibilities may include: creating and delivering operational plans, managing projects, managing change, financial & resource management, talent management and coaching & mentoring.
This programme is suitable for colleagues wanting to improve their strategic management knowledge and skills and support career aspirations.
DEVELOPING CORE KNOWLEDGE
  • Understand operational management approached and models, including creating plans to deliver objectives and setting KPIs
  • Understand business development tools and approaches to continuous improvement
  • Understand business finance: how to manage budgets and financial fore-casting
  • Understand own impact, emotional intelligence and different learning and behaviour styles
  • Understand approaches to partner, stakeholder and supplier relationship management including negotiation, influencing and effective networking
DEVELOPING CORE SKILLS
  • Create strategic plans in line with organisational objectives
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness and ability to identify and shape new opportunities
  • Monitor budgets, provide reports and consider financial implications of decisions
  • Undertake critical analysis and evaluation to support decision making
  • Manage talent and performance, develop, build and motivate teams by utilising strengths and enabling professional development

B-Skill directly delivers the whole standard through a delivery model that best suits the needs of the Employer. This can include 1:1 in the workplace, day release or a blended learning model that includes face-to-face sessions and distant learning via VLE.
Progression routes can include a Degree Apprenticeship as a Chartered Manager. Upon completion, there is the option to register as Associate members with the Chartered Management Institute and/or the Institute of Leadership & Management.
